The AP Physics equation sheets, annotated

Each AP physics exam comes with its own equation sheet, provided on both sections, so nothing on it needs memorizing. What the sheet does not tell you is which equation applies, what each symbol means in a given setup, or which form saves you time. That judgment is the actual exam skill, and it is what the annotated sheets below are for.

The four sheets

Conventions shared by all four sheets

Every sheet sets the magnitude of the acceleration due to gravity at Earth's surface to $g = 9.8\ \text{m/s}^2$ , and lists the same value as the gravitational field strength, $g = 9.8\ \text{N/kg}$ .

The calculator policy is identical across the four CEDs (Effective Fall 2024): A four-function, scientific, or graphing calculator is allowed on both sections of the exam.
