AP Physics reference tables

Every AP Physics exam hands you a booklet, and most of it is not the equation sheet. These are the other pages: the constants you are given, the prefixes and unit symbols the questions use without explaining, and the trigonometry and geometry the exam expects you to read off rather than derive. Each table is transcribed from the current course description and paired with what it is actually for.

For the equation sheets themselves, annotated course by course, see formula sheets.

AP Physics Constants Sheet: Every Value, All 4 CoursesEvery constant in the AP Physics Table of Information, at the precision the booklet prints, with which of the four courses gets which value and why they differ.AP Physics Exam Conventions: All Four CoursesThe conventions box printed in the AP Physics exam booklet, quoted in full for all four courses. Physics 1 prints 4 bullets, Physics 2 prints 9, C prints 3 and 7.AP Physics Task Verbs: All 14, Defined by the CEDThe 14 task verbs AP Physics free-response questions use, quoted from the CED and identical in all four courses, plus what justify requires that describe does not.AP Physics Geometry Formulas: The Printed Sheet BoxEvery formula in the GEOMETRY AND TRIGONOMETRY box of the AP Physics reference booklet, all four courses, plus the physics problem each one is printed for.AP Physics Science Practices: 3 Practices, 10 SkillsThe three AP Physics science practices and their ten numbered skills, identical in all four courses, with the exam weightings that are not identical.AP Physics Symbols: What Every Variable MeansWhat each italic letter stands for on the AP Physics equation sheet, section by section, plus the symbols that mean two or three different things in one booklet.AP Physics Unit Symbols Table: All Four CoursesEvery unit symbol printed in the AP Physics Table of Information, from A to W, with the name each one stands for and which of the four course booklets prints it.AP Physics Unit Weightings: 28 Units, 4 CoursesExam weighting and class-period estimate for every unit of all four AP Physics courses, from the CEDs effective Fall 2024, plus each exam's format.AP Physics C Calculus Formulas: All 11 Printed RulesThe CALCULUS box printed for AP Physics C: six derivative rules and five integral rules, transcribed from the CED appendix, with the AP result each one derives.SI Prefixes on the AP Physics Equation SheetThe nine metric prefixes printed in the AP Physics booklet, tera to pico, with factor, name and symbol, which prefixes are missing, and the symbol collisions.AP Physics C Identities: The Four Printed LinesThe IDENTITIES box printed for AP Physics C holds exactly four lines. Here they are verbatim, what each one derives, and the identities the booklet omits.AP Physics Trig Table: sin, cos, tan Common AnglesThe exact trig values table printed in all four AP Physics booklets: sine, cosine and tangent at 0, 30, 37, 45, 53, 60 and 90 degrees, with radians added.AP Physics C Vectors Box: Dot and Cross ProductsThe five lines in the VECTORS box of the AP Physics C reference booklet, transcribed from the CED appendix, plus the vector formulas the booklet does not print.
